Karate Kid Movie Review

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and com again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I sad, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

One scene in the movie that I want to concentrate on. The Teacher and the snake. Our main character was thinking about control rightly so. But he was thinking of controling the snake or someone else. In Christian circles we call this dominion. It is given to God’s children to take dominion over the earth and its creatures not another human being.

But the Teacher corrected him and said you did not pay close enough attention.  That lesson was about che in Christian circles we call it peace. Throughout the bible God is called the God of Peace.

Philipians 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

But there is a false peace and the peace that only Jesus can give, and He gives to anyone who would but ask Him to give this kind of peace that is Kind and gentle. Anything else has a different source. Galatians 6 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Sometimes it is all about you and considering thyself and how much God loves you. He loves us so much that He will take our punishment. So that we can have another chance at living.

So when we read the words of Jesus what do we consider about ourselves? Think about the fact that our evil actions cost Jesus His life. But we do not have to stay there. Consider that He laid down His life not that we should be punished again but that we could choose another path in a different direction. He can take our sadness and our anger and redirect it if we would recieve His peace and let the God of peace take control. No evil can take control if God is first in control.

God loves us and is not angry with any man. True power does not have time for misdirected anger. He wants the best for us. Remember even our dreams come from Him and they will come true when He the God of the universe is in control.
